# Swiss Equity Data — Public Beta v0.2 Known Limitations

Package version: v0.2 · Data snapshot build date: 2026-06-19 · Limitations last updated: 2026-07-07

## What this dataset is

A static, descriptive snapshot of annual fundamentals, interim reporting coverage,
sources, and data-quality notes for five Swiss listed companies
(BARN.SW, DKSH.SW, GEBN.SW, SCMN.SW, SIKA.SW), fiscal years 2015–2025.

It contains no investment advice, no forecasts, no target prices, and no
buy/sell/hold recommendations. Files do not update automatically.

## Blank fields are intentional

A blank value means the input is unavailable or not yet validated. Blanks are
never zero, never estimated, and never filled from unverified sources.
Missing values are preferred over wrong values.

Known blanks in this release:

- **Shares outstanding** — not populated for any company. Share counts have not
yet been extracted and validated from annual reports, so per-share
verification against market capitalization is not possible in this release.
- **BARN.SW market data** — Barry Callebaut AG has no validated year-end share
price, market capitalization, or enterprise value in this release. All
  BARN.SW valuation multiples (P/E, P/B, EV/EBITDA, EV/EBIT, EV/Revenue,
dividend yield) are therefore intentionally blank.
- **DKSH.SW enterprise value for FY2015, FY2016, FY2018** — net debt inputs are
incomplete for these years, so EV and EV-based multiples stay blank.
- **fx_rate_used / fx_source** — empty by design. All reporting and market
values in this release are CHF, so no currency conversion was applied
(`fx_status = not_required`). No FX rates were used or needed.

## Reported vs calculated values

- Reported and calculated bases are kept separate (for example
  `free_cash_flow_reported` vs `free_cash_flow_calculated`,
  `capex_reported` vs `capex_calculated`).
- **EV/Revenue is a calculated field**: enterprise value divided by revenue for
the same fiscal year, computed only where both inputs exist in the same
currency (CHF). It is not a reported company figure.

## Provenance coverage scope

- Field-level provenance (`field_provenance.json`) covers accounting fields
extracted from annual reports: source report, URL, extraction method, and
  value status.
- **Market data fields (year-end share price, market capitalization) do not yet
have per-field provenance.** They carry the package-level label
  `market_data_source = public_beta_market_reference` and should be
independently re-verified before being relied on for valuation work.

## Other limitations

- Universe is limited to five companies; it is a preview, not a screening
  universe.
- Q1/H1 interim coverage depends on what each company publishes; sales updates
  are not full P&L releases.
- Data has been validated but may still contain errors; per-company caveats
are listed in `data_quality_report.json` and on the Data quality page.

See the Methodology page on the site for how the dataset is assembled.
